Inch Beach
Just five minutes drive away are the three miles of sands backed by dunes that make up Inch Beach. Inch has the prestigious Blue Flag status and was made famous in the Oscar winning film ‘Ryans Daughter’. The dunes behind the beach have been designated an area of Special Scientific Interest due to the rare flora and fauna that exists there.
It is one of the best surfing beaches in Ireland and lessons are available during the summer months. Facilities include public toilets on the seafront, a pub, gift shop and two bar/restaurants one of which specialises in fresh local sea-food.

Annascaul
In the opposite direction to Inch but still just five minutes travel is the picturesque village of Annascaul. Although Annascaul is small and retains a traditional look, it has a surprising number of facilities including a school, surgery, post office, two shops and wide selection of pubs including the South Pole Inn that celebrates local hero Tom Crean. The Annascaul Pottery makes hand-made unique ceramics.

Annagap
A short drive beyond Annascaul leads to Annascaul Lake. This is a breathtaking valley that only the locals seem to know about. From the free car park, a 20 minute walk will take you to an area of beautiful natural rock pools and waterfalls. A perfect place for a picnic on a sunny day.
Camp Beach
Just seven miles from the house is Camp beach, the perfect place for a gentle stroll with its beautifull views across Tralee Bay. The sea here is protected by the Castlegregory peninsula so is normally calm making it ideal for swimming or snorkelling.
Although this is a magnificent sandy beach that stretches for miles along the north coast of the peninsular, you will most likely only have to share it with the occasional local walking their dog.
Castlegregory
Castlegregory is 25 minutes drive away and has many attractions. The village itself is blessed with a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The West side of the peninsula has magnificent beaches and is an excellent place for surfing and has a resident surf school and surf shop. At the end of the peninsula is Irelands premier scuba diving centre, which is also has a restaurant offering spectacular sea views.
On the east side of the peninsula, the protected beaches offer safe bathing for the very young (or very old). The Caslegregory peninsula is also an ideal place for walking or cycling as no part of it rises more than a few meters above sea level.
Castlegregory also has an excellent golf course.
The Dingle Way
The Dingle Way is a marked footpath that runs right around the peninsula and passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. Access to it is only a five minute walk from the house.
Schools
There is a good primary school just five minutes drive away in Annascaul and a secondary school in Derrymore, just ten minutes drive. A variety of other schools are available in Tralee and Dingle and the school bus stops just a minute's walk away from the house.
Public Transport
The Bus Eireaan service between Tralee and Dingle runs several times a day, seven days a week. It stops only a minute's walk from the house. The Bus Eireaan service uses modern comfortable air conditioned coaches offering magnificent views of the countryside.
Inch beach is reknowned for magnificent sunsets. Many people watch the sun going down from either The Strand Bar, or the patio in front of Sammy's Restaurant and Bar on the beach.
