Building Energy Rating
The house has officially been given a BER rating of B3 which puts it in line with a new building completed after 2009. This is extremely good for a building completed in 2002 and reflects the quality of the original construction and the improvements that have been made since then including:
- Heating controls upgraded - new fully zoned timer, digital thermostats, hot water tank thermostat added, timer fitted to immersion heater.
- Over a thousand Euros worth of additional insulation put in the attic when it was converted to bedrooms.
- Extensive use of good quality energy saving lighting including extremely low energy LED spotlights.
- Foil lined black out blinds fitted to most of the velux windows.
